Went over to Roberts Field to look at the sun (I'm still practicing using the solar filter for the Venus transit on June 8th). There was a big one spot on the western limb and a cluster of about ten small ones on the eastern limb.

I'm getting a kick out of solar observing. I might have to invest in a special purpose filter. (I've determined that adding the yellow No. 8 filter to the optical path makes the image look more natural -- the Kendrick filter by itself gives the sun a blue-ish cast.)
